Sunday 7 th May.
Just I and new member, Steve Bagley, were able to go on this trip. Rather than take the boring motorway route, we decided to go on the country roads to make the most of the journey. Starting off from Northampton, we took the A508 to Stony Stratford, followed by a short spell on the A5 and then the A4146 to Leighton Buzzard. Heading out of Leighton Buzzard on the A4146 to Edlesborough before turning right to follow the B roads to Wendover. The next stage of the journey was on the A413 through Great and Little Missenden, followed by Chalfont St. Giles. The final leg of the outward route was on the A40 to Hanger Lane and on to the A406 for the short jaunt to the Ace Café, arriving at about 12 noon.

Plenty of bikes were already there, although it would have been nice to see more Italian bikes, especially our favourite Ducatis.

We took lunch (no comments about my food intake from those who know me) before doing a circuit round the many bikes on view, stopping longer when encountering Ducatis or MV Agustas, as both myself and Steve agree that the both marques are particularly special.

This event is not one that holds the attention all day, so we set off for home at around 3pm, retracing our outward journey to Wendover, and staying on the A413 to Buckingham (Good twisty bits from Aylesbury to Buckingham). Then came the time for myself and Steve to part company and go our respective routes home, agreeing that we had been lucky with the weather and that we had both enjoyed the day.
