Horsham Piazza 2009

The Piazza Italia at Horsham celebrates all Italian bikes and cars, and the DOC had a presence at this, the second Piazza.
Bikes gathered outside Pietro Di Marino's shop in preparation for the display in town.
And quite a sizeable group it was too.
Guzzi's, and MV's joined the Laverda above and others to swell the ranks of mainly Ducatis.
The rain proved to be persistent.....
...but it didn't stop people turning up.....
...including an MHE900 owner who didn't mind getting it wet.
There was respite from the rain indoors, with a variety of second hand bikes to look over....
...bits and pieces galore....
...people to talk to....
...and all ably dealt with by Pietro and his temporary assistants in Ms's Penagar and Danzleman.
Into the Piazza and the DOC members were grateful for the shelter from the unremitting wet.
The bikes, though, had to stay out in it and shiver.
Amongst the collection of Monsters and other modern stuff there were a few older classics to catch the attention...
...such as a superbly executed HD-XR lookalike 900.
A couple of pristine Darmah's graced us with their presence....
....still a lovely sight.
A very tidy 860GT also looked remarkably good.

On the whole, a very satisfactory day, despite the unrelenting rain. The crowd was smaller due to the weather, but they promise us sun for next year.

We'll see.....
