Classic Bike Show - Stafford April 2010

Outside, Martyn did his best to scare 'em off ...
...while inside the likes of Pete Kynnersley's 750 Sport dragged 'em in.
Kev Baker's immaculate Darmah was a star...
...but not quite as much of a star as Steve Brown's Hailwood Rep, of which more later.
Malcolm Wheeler's Cinelli F2 race bike gleamed in the spotlights.
Although this lovely 250 Desmo was on the Benzina magazine stand, it merits a photo here.

Saturday night saw the DOC "Staff Party"

at thecurry muncher

Back at the show on Sunday....
...the DOC stand was looking pretty good
A veritable sea of red paint adorned several varieties of Duke....
...from Timbo's 907ie....
...to Nigel's 851
You couldn't really make it any redder if you tried...
...then Roy Thersby (Loyblox Ducatis) turned up to spoil the colour co-ordination
An excellent effort from the DOC crew all round, and especially Kevin and Ritchie from the ....
... West Midlands Branch, earned the DOC the accolade of the "Best Non-British Bike Club" stand.
As neither Kev nor Ritchie was handy at the time, Martyn accepted the award, ably supported by Graham.

Back to Steve Brown's Rep, which took third place overall in the show,
and Steve was presented with his award by multiple TT winner Phil McCallen

Phil also did the honours for Kev and Ritchie....
...posed for pics with Timbo and his lad...
...and was heard to say "Who was that dipstick in the hat?"
Steve, Hailwood Rep, and award. Happy? Him?
Vote for best bike on the stand, though, went to Mal's TT2...yummy.

And these are the folks who made it all possible by bringing bikes, manning the stand, drinking the tea......
.....and playing the ukelele!
It is worth mentioning here that having won the Best Non-Japanese Club stand in October (beating all the Brit clubs) and then the Best Non-British Club stand in April (beating all the Jap clubs) we must surely be the best of all, as we have beaten every other club that doesn't have an unfair advantage over us by being either British or Japanese. We can't win the outright awards as they are reserved for other nationalities, but we beat them all when they don't get automatic selection. Big up the DOC!
