Stafford Classic Bike Show - October 2008

Once again the DOC came armed to the teeth with some classic weapons .
This time we probably had more modern classics than truly old stuff.
There were a bevy of
...including a proper Corse jobbie.
...and a Foggy Rep S4R Monster.
Not to be outdone, some of the older singles glittered
"Are you sure you know how this thing works???"
Racers old and new were cheek by jowl.

This was a real rarity, a 1970's 125 Regolarita...
...built especially for the ISDT of the period, and Ducati's last stroker.
Pristine 851 took centre stage this year.
An interloper from another club was spotted eying up the classics. Bit of a contradiction there?
Meanwhile, Rich and Spaggy vie for the silliest hat award.
Some other shiny domes looked like they needed the warmth more though.
The stand was pretty much this crowded all weekend.

We ran a competition for the fastest lap of Mugello on a Playstation MotoGP bike. This chap won a tee-shirt. Martyn lost
Last job of the day was to present Kevin with the award for the best bike on the stand. His Darmah is much prettier than he is, and justly desrved the trophy.

Then there was just time for the DOC Gang Show picture before we packed up and headed home.

One that wasn't on our stand, but was worthy of a mention, was this Desmacchi spotted in the main hall. A Duke (?) Desmo front cylinder and head mated to an Aermacchi bottom end in a one-off frame with loads of other special bits. Odd, and quite special.
