WSB Silverstone 2006

Thursday 25 th May.

WSB Dinner at Silverstone.

As a lucky recipient of an invite to the WSB Dinner on the Thursday prior to the World Superbike event at Silverstone, I arrived at about 6.30pm at the main entrance and got myself checked in with security.

They directed me to a car park that did not exist, so I parked in the Paddock Car Park and set off in search of the hospitality unit. On seeing one of the Xerox machines being pushed along, I followed it to Race Control where it was heading for scrutineering.

The mechanics pointed me to the pit garage, where I found David Tardozzi and he kindly guided me to the hospitality unit.

I was greeted by Bobbie of Ducati UK, and met Keith Bradford, his wife and his pal from the Herts and Essex branch, plus Barry Gambrill from my branch.

A tremendous selection of food was on offer (Here I go, on about food again. Don’t even thing about it Mr. Stoppani), with good hearted banter between myself and one of the Ducati Sporting Club members. On a serious note, it is good that the various Ducati clubs are communicating more frequently, as we all share the same passion for this wonderful marque.

Following the dinner, Troy Bayliss and Lorenzo Lanzi were introduced to us before taking there seats ready to sign posters and various other items for us lucky attendees of this do.

Who’s the handsome chap in the middle of Troy and Lorenzo?

Could it be me? (Pic taken by Keith Bradford)

Big Baz Gambrill from the Northamptonshire branch with Troy.

In addition, Giancalo Falappa was also in attendance and was his usual charming self. These Italians are charmers for the ladies - lucky chaps.

Big Baz Gambrill again.

Keith Bradford and Evangeline from Herts and Essex branch with Giancarlo

It was a good evening and many thanks to Ducati UK for inviting the various clubs to send a number of members to this event.
