We have two traditional events in the Isle of Man during TT week. For 2008, however, there are a few special events that no self-respecting Ducati owner will want to ignore. Get ready for a full week of full-on Ducati mania.

DOC TT Rally

The first and most long-established is the Mad Sunday TT Rally, held at the Waterfall Hotel, Glen Maye, from 11 am onwards. We usually have sunstroke weather, regalia on sale, and prizes for best bike in three categories, so get the Solvol out. The 2008 event is scheduled for Sunday 1st June.

Attention all Hailwood Rep owners.

This year, to mark the 30th anniversary of Mike the Bike's brilliant 1978 F1 win, there will be a very special award for the best Hailwood Replica at the DOC TT rally on Sunday 1st June. This will be a one-off, stupendous trophy that will be treasured by the winner forever, so if you have an MHR, you owe it to yourself to be there.

Not only this, BUT...

The winner of this trophy will also get to take part in the TT Parade lap on Friday 6th June, riding his (or her) award-winning Hailwood Rep alongside the likes of Foggy, Paul Smart and David Hailwood on closed roads as part of Ducati's celebration of Mike the Bike's epic 1978 TT win. See below.

You cannot buy this opportunity!

If you want to be in with a chance of winning this special lap you have to be at Glen Maye on Mad Sunday, and still in the Island on Friday the 6th June. If you are not you will regret it for the rest of your life!

On the Tuesday of race week, we have our annual TT Barbeque, at the Shore Hotel, Laxey. We hope to avoid last year's cock-up, which resulted in there being no Barby at the BBQ. This starts at around 7 pm, and goes on until chucking out time. For 2008 the date is June 3rd .

Blistering sunshine and cold beer awaits!

Celebration TT Dinner

A third event that no Ducati owner will want to miss this year will be the 50th anniversary TT Dinner, to be held at the world famous Creg-ny-Baa Hotel, in the Verandah Suite.

The dinner will start at 7 pm on Thursday the 5th, and will include many of the most famous and successful names in Ducati history.

Ducati to celebrate 50 years of TT

Ducati UK and the organisers of TT2008 have joined forces to bring a taste
of Italy to this year’s event. A host of famous Ducati names and historic
bikes are expected on the island as Ducati bring both modern day and
historical machines for visitors to enjoy as Ducati celebrate 50 years of TT
involvement.

For the first time the world famous Ducati Museum will be visiting the Isle
of Man with some of its most famous race bikes that have helped shape TT
history. Visitors will have the chance to get up close to some of the most
iconic machines ever to take part in the TT during the weeklong exhibition
at the TT Grandstand.

Included in the exhibition will be the first Ducati TT entry, the 125cc
Desmo Ducati and appropriately on the 30th anniversary of his incredible
comeback, Mike Hailwood’s 1978 Ducati will be returning to the Island.

Fans will be able to see Carl Fogarty’s 1994 World Superbike Championship
winning 916 Ducati, Neil Hodgson’s 2003 World Superbike Championship winning
999 Ducati and Casey Stoner’s 2007 all conquering Moto GP World Championship
winning Ducati Desmosedici.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Ducati’s involvement with the TT and 30
years since Hailwood’s comeback, Ducati will also be holding a special
Parade Lap prior to the Senior Race on Friday 6th June. This will give
spectators the chance to see some of the most historic and exotic Ducati
machines in existence, ridden by some of the Ducati greats. This will include the
winning bike and owner in the Best MHR competition on Mad Sunday.

Ducati will also be offering guided demonstration rides using bikes from
their 2008 range. These rides will start from the TT Grandstand throughout
race week. The bikes available to ride will be announced nearer the time.
