The new Panigale V2 coming to British Superbike circuits in 2020

The new Panigale V2 will supersede the Panigale 959 in next year’s Ducati Performance TriOptions Cup. The 959 Panigale has been raced in the Ducati one-make championship for the last 3 years, it will initially continue to be eligible in the championship alongside the new Panigale V2 for 2020, but not beyond.

The new Panigale V2 was unveiled on Wednesday to a global audience at the World Premiere in Rimini, Italy by Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati Motor Holding, who presented this and the rest of the new 2020 range.

The twin-cylinder Panigale has been comprehensively updated, renamed the Panigale V2, it takes on a totally new design. The V2 retains the same the 955 cm³ Superquadro engine but (now Euro 5 compliant) delivers even more power (+5 hp) and torque (+2 Nm). With a maximum power of 155 hp at 10,750 rpm and a maximum torque of 104 Nm at 9,000 rpm.

The V2 Panigale features sophisticated electronics based on a 6-axis inertial platform. The electronics package consists of Ducati Traction Control (DTC) EVO 2, a system already employed on the Panigale V4 R and V4 R SBK, ABS cornering evo, Ducati Wheelie Control and Ducati Quick Shifter EVO 2, with up/down function.

The V2 Panigale has a new fairing design, an under-engine silencer, which terminates in an extremely compact right-side-only end pipe and the double-sided swingarm has been replaced with a sophisticated, fully die-cast aluminium single-sided swingarm.

The Panigale V2 will be available in dealerships from the end of December and beginning of January and has an RRP of £14,995. Race packages for the new bike will be announced in due course.
