Reluctant sale – simply don’t have enough space to keep it

To cut a long story short – recently purchased after searching for an ST3 in red and in original condition. Been standing, garaged since 2002. I purchased the bike knowing it sounded rough after a brief start up and thought it might be old fuel. Took it to the Ducati shop in North Wales for repair and refresh.

While it was there with bodywork off ready to start work out of the blue my wish came true and I now have an ST3S ABS also in red complete with matching luggage!    I quickly cancelled the work on this ST3 and put the S in for a service and will have it back next week I hope.

 It became apparent that the front cylinder was out of action. Diagnosis is that the previous owner did a home service during covid and messed up the belt timing on the horizontal cylinder. Belts now adjusted but it suffered from a bashed exhaust valve so is in mono mode!  It turns over fine and did not seize but the valve has interacted badly with the piston having had a look with a snake camera.

Simplest and cheapest way forward is to assume it will need a second-hand piston and matching cylinder and a cylinder head.

So here it it.  Super original, no cracks or grazes on the really nice bodywork in original paint,  original silencers , again scratch free.

Brand new tyres, fork service and recent battery and clutch rebuild with new cage

Comes with matching set of Ducati red panners and large top box with back rest for pillion. Original tool kit and U lock under the seat. Comes with three keys (one red) and key card

Flaking paint on alternator cover side and some corrosion on front wheel otherwise a lovely bike that is getting hard to find in red with luggage
