Ducati ST3s for sale

Glasgow

£4500

Thanks for looking at the ad for my 2007 Ducati ST3s ABS.

The bike has just come out of hibernation in a dry and well ventilated garage, and started first push of the button, no doubt assisted by the trickle-charger over the SORN period. The nearly-new Pirelli Angel 2’s required only a tiny top-up to regain full pressure. On the way back from the pumps the bike reached 10,500 miles total on the odometer. This will increase as I use it.

This is the most sought-after model in the Sports Tourer range with the 3-valve/head engine, uprated suspension with the Ohlins rear shock with remote pre-load adjuster, and fully-adjustable Showa forks with TIN coated sliders. It has an alloy swing arm a la 900SS, and 5-spoke Marchesini wheels and of course ABS. There are both side and centre stands fitted.

The bike has the performance ECU and carbon silencers to match. A lovely sound on the cam. The original items will come with the bike. It also has an Oberorn clutch slave unit, and a battery lead for the the trickle charger.

The bike has factory panniers. To my mind it looks better with them fitted, but for ease of garage entry I have only shown 1 fitted in the photos. If riding without them for prolonged periods it is possible to remove the frames and swing the silencers to a steeper angle to match that of the rear sub-frame - clever design touch.

There is also a Famsa adjustable tank bag which is really handy for cameras, documents and other essentials. The base of this has been doctored several times to fit various bikes but it is still serviceable.

There is a model-specific Scottoiler pack I was given as a gift but not fitted. It connects with the port on the inlet manifold to provide automatic on/off activation only when the engine is running.

I have owned and enjoyed the bike since 2021, and during that time it has been serviced at North Motorcycles. Indeed I bought it from one of Tyler’s customers so it has been in good hands for a number of years.

The bike is not concours condition but it is clean and well cared for. There are a couple of small defects which could be remedied but do not prevent the bike’s use.

There was a crack in the O/S top fairing when I got the bike. This seems to be a common fault. I have carried out an epoxy repair on the inner face, so the fairing is secure. It would benefit from being finished cosmetically on the outer surface - beyond my skill set.

I also kicked off the rear N/S indicator due to my dodgy hip. It still works but is secured with electrical tape and cable ties. There is a replacement which I haven’t got round to fitting.

The bike was last serviced in June 2023. The belts were NOT changed as Tyler rated them “as-new”. Forks were also overhauled, a faulty seal replaced and the oil changed.

Due to my long-term incapacity the bike has been off the road since July last year. I am only now getting back into the saddle but with dodgy joints and other age-related gentlemen’s issues, I have reluctantly realised that I need something smaller and lighter.

I am asking for offers around £4,500.

I would consider p/x for something nimbler - perhaps a 620 Multistrada with luggage or a Monster S2R or even a Ducati single?

PS the bike is in Glasgow. I have bought and sold my bikes from all over the UK so can confirm it is possible to arrange deliveries etc. Being a club website I think brings a greater element of trust to transactions.

Thanks for your time.
